On Safe Combustibility of Mixtures of Propellants and Polymers for Mines and Quarries
نویسندگان
چکیده
Mixtures of single-base propellant with chlorine and bromine-containing polymers in different ratios, applied in mines and quarries abroad, were investigated. The exoeffects: maximum temperature of the peak, quantity of released heat and loss of mass were determined by a differential scanning calorimetry, after a standard aging of 120 and 240 hours under conditions imitating the sunshine. Combustibility of mixtures was analyzed according to a standardized factor of combustibility (К), Mixtures were subdivided into four groups depending on their values: easily combustible, combustible, self-extinguishing and non-combustible. Effective action of selected compounds depended on speed of formation of combustion retardants, which depended on temperature of thermal destruction. That was the reason for mixing propellants with polymers, whose initial temperature of destruction had been lower than the temperature individual combustion of propellant. Thus effective combustion retardant was created in the initial stage of mixture heating. Controllable fuel characteristics of recipes improve the safety of transport, storage and use of offered materials.

Iran has high potential and unique stone reserves in terms of variety of color, texture, quality, and economic value; nevertheless, in spite of growing mine production during the past decade, in many instances this potential has been overlooked. Therefore it is necessary to investigate strategic factors of these mines. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and determine the best strategies f...
متن کاملSelective Flocculation for Coal De Mineralization
Selective flocculation has long been suggested as a method for the treatment of ultra-fine particles typical of which are those produced in a de-sliming process ahead of flotation. In this paper the results of the coal de-mineralization, using synthetic polyacrylamide polymers, are presented. A prescreening test on the suitability of the polymers using Run-Of-Mine (R.O.M.) coal and artificial m...

متن کاملIdentification Effect of Nanoclay on Engineering Properties of Asphalt Mixtures
Nanoclays are new generation of processed clays of interest in a wide range of high performance composites. In other words, nanoclay is defined as a clay that can be modified to make the clay complexes compatible with organic monomers and polymers. Here, it can be said that the polymeric nanocomposites are among the most exciting and promising classes of materials discovered recently. A number ...
متن کاملStylolite networks in dolomitized limestones and their control on polished decorative stones:a case study from Upper Cretaceous Khur quarries, central Iran
Stylolite networks and their insoluble residues (IR) are among the major concerns and the fundamental controls on the mining and processing of sedimentary decorative stones, largely made from dolomitized limestones. They are mainly used, as natural rock blocks and polished slabs, to construct and decorate floors and walls of buildings and monuments. Representative quarries in Khur areas, east o...
